Cedar Keys Airport Information
Cedar Key is home to the George T. Lewis Airport - a small general aviation airport serving Cedar Key and the surrounding communities in Levy County, Florida. For more information about Lewis Landing Field, contact Fred Moody at 352/486.5218.
The following advice may be useful to pilots unfamiliar with the area:
- When taking off to the southwest, on Cedar Key Airport runway 23, the horizon can seemingly disappear! Believe it!
- Most pilots familiar with the Cedar Key, FL airport will take off to the northeast, CDK Runway 5, unless there is a wind condition that would make runway 23 much better. There is still marsh at that end, but there is more land and landmarks to focus on.
- Be aware that the road along the runway to the SE is NOT a taxiway. This is a city street. Parking is at the southwest end and airplanes must use the runway. Cross the road to get to the parking at the end, but be careful!
